City of Great Bend supports United Way of Central Kansas

The City of Great Bend once again joined in the effort to Live United as they proclaimed the months of August –December 2020 as “United Way of Central Kansas” months. The proclamation addresses the focus of United Way to bring the entire community-individuals, businesses, and organizations-together to create lasting change in our community. With an emphasis on education, health, and income-the building blocks for quality of life-United Way of Central Kansas believes that everyone wins when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, and when people are in good health.

“We’re honored to receive this proclamation, but we are also humbled by the support we receive from the City of Great Bend. We hope that this recognition will encourage others to get involved and learn more about what UWCK is doing in our community.” Gaila Demel, UWCK Executive Director.

The City is Great Bend employees donate to United Way through the Payroll Deduction program, the City supports projects with United Way, such as Reality U and the Born Learning Trail, and is a recipient of UWCK impact programs, namely our Hand Sanitizer Distribution project.
