United Way of Central Kansas is excited to announce a NEW Impact Program to help families improve their financial stability!
Auto Care Access looks to address the transportation issues that arise for families who are below the ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) threshold. In our area, more than 46% of households are living paycheck to paycheck with little to no room for additional expenses. These individuals and families are working hard to make sure that they provide a safe home and food on the table. An integral part of this is ensuring that they can get to and from their jobs with reliable transportation.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level or qualified for TANF, SNAP in last 12 months
- Be a current resident of Barton or Pawnee Counties (3 months)
- At least one member of the household must be employed
United Way of Central Kansas will only fund a household once per calendar year. This will be based on vehicle and/or household. UWCK will do due diligence to ensure that applicants are not receiving the same services from another organization. If awarded, you will receive a voucher that can be redeemed at local businesses. You are responsible for scheduling and ensuring that the voucher is used in the allotted timeframe. If it is not used, you will have to reapply.
