UWCK Announces 2023 Campaign Co-Chairs

United Way of Central Kansas is excited to announce our 2023 Campaign Co-Chairs; Chantelle Brown-Great Bend, John & Nicole Henderson-Hoisington, and Lori Sherman-Larned. Each of these individuals are an integral part of each Campaign year. Offering insight and a fresh perspective while being a voice for their communities.

Chantelle Brown, a Great Bend native, is the Office Manager of Have It Maid Cleaning Service. She is a graduate of Great Bend High School, Barton Community College, University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Fort Hays State University. She previously worked as an Aquatics Director at Butler-Gast YMCA in Omaha, NE and as an X-ray/Medical Assisting Instructor at Heritage College in Wichita, KS. Chantelle is a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Parish in Great Bend. She is an aunt to two nephews (her pride & joy) and stays busy attending their multiple sports activities. She is looking forward to serving the community as a Co-Chair of the United Way of Central Kansas.

John and Nicole Henderson were both born and raised in Barton County. John and Nicole both explored the country for the better part of two decades after graduating from Hoisington High School, only to return and re-establish their roots to raise their son Sebastian.  John is currently an operations consultant at CUNA Mutual Group and Nicole is the General Manager at Perkins as well as a Realtor at MPIRE Realty Group. Both are active in the community. John is currently serving on the Clara Barton Foundation Board of Trustees and RSVP Advisory Council. Nicole is a former Vice-President and currently a director for the Great Bend Pilots club. She is also actively involved in the Hoisington CWC.

Lori Sherman was born and raised in Medicine Lodge. She and her late husband co-owned with his parents, S & S Farms in Coldwater where they raised their two children. They are blessed with three grandchildren. Lori has been an active member of the UMC, sponsoring HS Youth Group and King’s Kids. She was a Girl Scout leader and hosted Day Camp. Lori was a member of PEO Chapter EG, now Chapter CB.  She moved to Larned almost 4 years ago and is employed at Fusion Bank in the Loan Department. She has enjoyed helping with the PVCH Foundation Gala. Lori is really looking forward to working with the United Way.

“We are excited to welcome these four into our United Way family. They have hit the ground running; learning more about what UWCK does through our Impact Programs, what our Community Partners do, and adding insightful input into how we can continue to impact Barton & Pawnee Counties. We look forward to working with them throughout this campaign and beyond.” Charell Owings, UWCK Executive Director.
